28.3.13 Weekly Bulletin

Hi Everyone,
Another cold week has gone by lets hope Spring arrives next week!
Message from Martin:
Less than 2 weeks to go before the Burnham Sprint Aquathlon  on the 7th April. A chance to have  an early season burn up on the Sprint Tri route (minus the bike!) and those lovely sand dunes!! Still plenty of places left so let me know if you’d like to come. Forms from the website www.bospool.com/events .

We also have the Splash and Dash for the Kids on the same day, so bring them along and the whole family can have a go.

The weather will be nice and warm by then so bring your picnic for the beach afterwards (I hope!)
Message from Dave (Treasurer)

Please change your standing orders!  £35 for Gold £22 for Silver. We will be chasing those who do not change their SO by 1st April and to make it equitable we will expect people to pay the difference if they do not change their payments in time.

Junior holiday swimmers

We welcome junior members that want to swim in the holidays. The fee for these part time members is £15 for membership and £4 per swim. As Mondays are busy we ask that these part time members try their best to stick to Wednesdays, and are welcome at either of the sessions 8-9 or 9-10pm.

Wetsuit

Wetsuit wanted for a 12yr old who is 1.65m weighing 45kg. Does anyone have one to sell or lend?

Bridgwater 10k

Just over two weeks to go to the Bridgwater 10k on Sunday 14 April at Trinity Sports & Leisure Centre.  A flat and  friendly early season 10k. The one lap route is largely on quiet, sealed surface country roads. Stunning views of the Quantock Hills and Somerset Levels, add to the attraction of this exciting race.

Charity Run

I’ve been asked to post this out in support of Gavin’s Challenge:

On Tuesday May 21st a lad called Gavin will be running from Cheddar to Taunton as part of his GBR 30/30 challenge (30 miles a day for 30 days) from John o Groats to Lands End! He is 25 and has been a diabetic since he was 12. He is fundraising for junior diabetes and this is a seriously tough challenge. He was an Olympic torch bearer last year and will be bringing that along.

He will be running at a very conservative 4-5 mph and is looking for a bit of support whilst he runs and any one to hold/rattle a bucket as he goes on his way.

Happy Hot cross Buns!
